Depriming crimped primers ?
Quote from Reloader on March 11, 2016, 1:08 pmRealize that the crimped primer will need to be removed / swaged later elsewhere...
But can a 550 or 650 deprime crimped primers as well as the 1050 ?
Looking at depriming, trimming, and sizing 223/5.56 brass on a 650 before cleaning the brass but loading the brass later on my 1050.

Quote from Reloader on March 11, 2016, 4:37 pmNeither the RL550 nor the XL650 offer primer pocket swaging. While there are some aftermarket swagers available, we have concerns about their use causing parts breakage. The use of any of them voids the warranty.
We suggest the SS-600 primer pocket swager, a bench-mounted swaging tool. stock#20095.

Quote from Reloader on March 11, 2016, 4:48 pmIf you are literally asking whether the crimped primers can be removed on the 550 or 650, the answer is "yes". As Dillon pointed out, the empty primer pockets cannot then be swaged on the press, but as long as they are boxer primed (one flash hole in the middle of the pocket) and not Berdan primed (two flash holes not centered in the pocket), then any universal decapping die or size/decap die (for that cartridge) can be used to deprime cases with crimped primers.

I want to deprime brass that has crimped primers using the 650.
I know that the primer crimps will have to be removed elsewhere.
I have a 1050 and I have the Dillon Super Swage 600 tool.
