Depriming problem
Quote from Reloader on August 10, 2018, 9:15 pmThis is a new to me press. When I'm depriming .45acp the spent primers are getting stuck in the tube running down to the collection cup. Eventually the tube get full and I have to manually clear that tube so I can continue decapping. I decapped ~1100 rounds of 9mm and did not have this problem. It started after I swithced everything out and started decapping .45ACP.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Quote from Reloader on August 10, 2018, 10:47 pmDoes this machine have a blue plastic chute attached to the bottom of the shaft that guides primers into a blue cup? If yes, then probably the failsafe rod bracket, which is sandwiched between the bottom of the shaft and the top of the spent primer chute, is installed upside down. The mounting bolts secure the part either way, but if this bracket is upside down, it partially blocks the hole in the bottom of the shaft where spent primers fall out.
Unbolt these parts, and run a stiff wire up through the hole in the bottom of the shaft to dislodge the jammed primers. Then reassemble properly. If properly reassembled, the round primer hole in the bracket lines up exactly with the round hole in the bottom of the platform.

Quote from Reloader on August 10, 2018, 11:29 pmEverything was installed correctly. I cleared the tube using a zip tie and decapped a couple hundred more rounds without issue. I'll keep an eye on it.
Thanks for a very quick response.
