Didn't realise suspension affected braking until now
Quote from josestanton on November 6, 2026, 11:49 amBit of an eye opener recently. My car's been diving forward quite hard under braking and I assumed it was just worn brake pads. A mechanic mentioned it could be tired suspension causing the weight transfer and poor grip. I read about the benefits of a good car suspension system and I had no idea it affected braking distance and tyre contact that much, I always thought it was purely about comfort. Now I'm wondering how many people overlook this. Has anyone replaced worn suspension and noticed a real difference in how the car stops? And is it something you'd prioritise over other maintenance if money's tight?
