dies
Quote from Reloader on March 19, 2013, 2:29 pmI have Lee die kits with 4 dies. Is it possible to use these since the expander die is with the powder die? I am loading 9mm, but I bought the 38/357 four die sets as well. Also notice that dillion only sells 3 die sets, I find this odd as the 550b is set for a 4 die set.

Quote from Reloader on March 24, 2013, 9:18 pmi have similar issue.. bought a 3 die Lee set for my first-time setup. Best i can tell, the Lee powder drop is not usable/necessary because the 550 came with a powder die, and the Dillon caliber kit contains the caliber funnel, which also does the belling/expanding. Lee's 3rd die appears to do bullet seating AND some form of crimp. So can i just leave the Dillon 550 4th die hole empty?? Seems kind of flaky.

Quote from Reloader on September 3, 2013, 7:35 pmYour Dillon caliber conversion kits come with the powder drop/expander unit for the second stage powder measure. Your die sets then would only need to be 1) Sizer/deprime 2) Bullet seater 3) Crimp die. In all cases, rifle or pistol, I prefer a separate operation for the crimp process - if your seat die has any crimp capability included in it, just back it off until it has little to no effect. var fctb_tool=null; function FCTB_Init_61f107dcd11e4e6f8a64330371177282(t) { fctb_tool=t; start(fctb_tool); } FCTB_Init_61f107dcd11e4e6f8a64330371177282(document['FCTB_Init_bd03db071d444d2981dd0a7f4e7976ff']); delete document['FCTB_Init_bd03db071d444d2981dd0a7f4e7976ff']
