Dual cartridge die conversions vs single cartridge?
Quote from LRRifleman on March 23, 2025, 9:58 pmGreetings! After over 30 years with a 550B, I am returning to the SDB for my handgun ammo. I have a minor dilemma.
I have a 38 Special conversion kit (20102). How would this conversion kit differ from the 38 Special/357 Magnum combination conversion kit?
With conventional dies,I know that you have to make adjustments to allow for the neat 1/8" difference in case length. How do you compensate (if necessary) for the 38/357, 40/10mm, and 44 Special/Magnum dies? Do these combination die conversions require a degree of float for the Magnum cartridges?
As always, thanks in advance for your help!

Quote from The Human Manual on March 24, 2025, 4:07 pmYour 38 Special conversion kit will also load 357 magnum cartridges. From 38 Spl to 357, you will back up stations 2,3 & 4 approximately 1/1/4 to 1 1/2 turns. Both the seat and crimp die bodies will float within the frame.
