Ejection Wire
Quote from Reloader on June 7, 2013, 3:43 pmI am just starting to load 300 blackout. I setup the tool head with the sizing die. I re-sized the brass, and only re-sized. I had no other dies in the tool head. Everything was fine until I attempted to eject the brass into the plastic bin. The brass hangs up causing a noticeable stoppage. I lower the handle just a little and the brass will extract into the bin. I noticed the brass is throw very hard into the bin. I am not using excessive force to extract the brass by using the handle, or at least no more than when loading other cartridges. I replaced the ejector wire on the machine from the spare parts and tried again, same results. Does the ejector wire have too much bend in the angle for 300 blackout? Please tell me what I need to be looking for to fix this problem before I really start loading.
I also searched the forum for 300 blackout for the correct shell plate to put in the brass hopper. Everyone says to use the small pistol with a washer. I tried that and it was extremely slow to move the brass. I switched to the large pistol plate with a washer below the plate. The machine had no trouble staying up with the brass demand and I did NOT have a single piece of brass turn upside down.
TIA

1) put a drop of Hornaday One Shot on the ejection wire, let dry
2) slow your up stroke down and shell will slide out easier
