expander sticking
Quote from Reloader on March 24, 2015, 8:28 pmI have a RL550B and love it. The only problem is the cases seem to want to stick a bit to much on the expand / powder funnel. Should I try polishing or roughing it up? Its not a big deal but would like it to run a little more smooth. Pea

Quote from Reloader on March 25, 2015, 11:43 amWhat caliber is causing the issue? Perfectly clean / shining brass is harder to load than some that have a bit a carbon left in the neck. It is possible to get brass to clean. A wet cleaning process causes this more than a tumble in corn cob media.
Try one drop of Hornaday One Shot Gun Cleaner and Dry Lube (not case lube) on the outside of the powder funnel. Wipe and let dry. This will clean up any buildup of material. If this works for a short time and then stops then polish the funnel. Use 4O steel wool or 2000 grit wetdry paper (very lightly with the 2000 grit wetdry). Be sure to clean the inside of the funnel after polishing.
Some of the newer style funnels have a bump to reduce the amount of metal touching the brass. This reduces the friction thus reducing the sticking. Might be time to upgrade the powder funnel.

Quote from Reloader on May 26, 2015, 2:31 amI have the same problem using new brass. I rub my fingers around the expander and the oil from them coats the expander enough to do about 10 rounds before I have to repeat with my fingers. Brass that I have shot and cleaned myself give me no problems.
