First Time Buyer

Hey guys im a long time shooter thanks to my father and grandfather. My grandpa has his own reloading room that he's had for over 40years. I know my dad is learning how to reload from my grandpa buy he doesn't have his own machine. He normally shoots 30-06, .270 Winchester, 6.5 X 55 Swedish, and 357 magnum. Im looking at getting him the 550b just to make it an all in one station for him to be able to reload all of his guns. My question is what do i need for all of this. i know the machine and the dies but is their anything else? And is their like a universal die set for pistols or do i have to individually by every caliber separately? Thanks guys

For the 550b, in addition to the dies for each caliber, you will also need the "caliber conversion kits" for your calibers. Some conversion kits support multiple calibers, so you'll need to check. So essentially, you need the 550b, caliber conversion kits and dies for each caliber.

You will have to buy individual die sets for each caliber. I would suggest other brands because they are easier to find. The wait for dies thru Dillon is loooooong! I have been waiting on 223, 9mm, 40S&W since January. I emailed them about two weeks ago and I got an email a week later saying it would be several more weeks.
