Flare stage - requires too much pressure to release
Quote from Jedi88 on May 29, 2024, 12:22 pmI am new to reloading. I bought a tumbler, separator and dryer for the brass which looks clean and amazing.
On the stage where the brass is flared, when you push to release - it requires a lot of force that makes the next stage come down too fast and I spill powder.
Ideas / Suggestions :
- Someone recommended and after market part - smooth glide powder funnel
- Someone mentioned trying lubrication
- Another post said to clean the funnel
- Also - reduce the flare
Hoping for the correct answer from people with experience 🙂

Quote from The Human Manual on May 29, 2024, 3:57 pmThe cause of the sticking is the cleanliness of the interior of the cases. On fired cases, the light carbon coating the inside of the case acts as a lubricant on the powder funnel. Tumble your brass an hour or two only. For now, use a scotchbrite pad to clean the funnel, and use case lube to lightly lube the tip of the powder funnel as needed.
