galling
Quote from Reloader on November 13, 2013, 7:13 pmI am working on some older dillon presses, both a 450 and a 550. Both have bad galling. The worst is in the top pivot of the link arm pin. On of the presses I still haven't gotten the 2nd pin out.
I have been pretty successful in cleaning up the galling with a buffing wheel for the pins and fine grit sand paper (440 grit) for the pins.
My question is, how to prevent this from happening in the future?
Thanks
