Gave Up...
Quote from Reloader on March 26, 2013, 3:13 pmI purchaced and received my Dillon SL900 shotshell reloader. I was also going to order/purchase the XL650 for my handgun and rifle reloading. After receiving my SL900. I changed my mind and gave up on Dillon due to the fact you can not get thru to thier customer service at all no matter how many times you call and wait for over an hour. So I purchaced the Hornady Ammo Plant instead and I'm glad I did. It is a great reloader. Plus Hornady customer service actually answered thier phone every time I called with a lot shorter hold times (average 2-15 mins on hold with Hornady) than Dillon. I understand what is going on in the industry. It has been going on for at least a couple of years and Dillon has had more than enough time to hire more CS reps. I sorry but Hornady will be getting all my busines from now on.

Quote from Reloader on March 26, 2013, 5:10 pmThere is a reason Hornady presses are readily available: they're inferior.
There is a reason Hornady has a short hold time: not as many callers.
There is a reason the Dillon's have a 6-8 week wait: they're high quality.
There is a reason you can't get through to customer svc: you're impatient.
Glad you're happy with what you're stuck with now, but go hock that garbage in some other forum. No need to come here and gripe about the great press you won't be getting from the company that has the best warranty in the business...
Hornady does NOT warranty a press to the second owner... First press I bought was a Dillon 550 off craigslist - it was missing a few pieces and the powder measure was obsolete - I told them I bought it used and I'd pay for the new measure - they wouldn't take my money. They sent me a brand new one no charge, and only asked that I ship back the old one to remove from circulation. They got a customer for life that day, and as soon as I could upgrade I bought a brand new 650. LOVE IT.

Quote from Reloader on March 28, 2013, 4:51 amAs far as being inferior...... that's your opinion.
As far as shorter hold times......not as many call? Really...is that a fact? You actually know how may calls Hornady gets a day...are you phychic, do you work for the phone company and trace thier calls? Please let me know how you know the number of calla Hornady gets in one day..I'm curious.
I'm impatient? So you think being on hold for over an hour and still not getting thru is being impatient..really? So by your standards the longer a company keeps you on hold the better they are? Because Hornady doesn't keep you on hold for an hour means they are not as good or not as busy? They just couldn't just couldn't have a better CS dept with more people answering the phones? Do you know for a fact how many people work in CS in each company?
Hornady Presses have a lifetime warranty to the original owners. I expect a company to stand behind thier product for the person who bought the product from them. I don't care about second or third owners. I don't go around buying broken crap from garage sales and flea markets and expect the manufacture to rebuild it for me for free..If that's Dillon business practice good for them..It doesn't make thier presses any better.
I bought a brand new hornady Ammo Plant....I LOVE IT.
My original post wasn't about Dillon being an inferor product. I wasn't bashing thier product. It was about my experiance with Dillon CS or lack of..I will post my comments when ever and where ever I want....If that's gets your Dillon panties in a bunch too bad...

First off, ignore Airlar73. He is the forum knudnick that thinks coming around posting Dillon propaganda might get him 10% off his next order or something. Google him, he is a complete retard who must check in randomly to add noise here when he gets tired of Christian Mingles....hahahaha. Seriously. Christian Mingles, google him.
Anyway. I'm starting to feel you. I've got about 2grand on backorder and thinking real hard about pulling the plug soon if they don't ship. 10 weeks is ridiculous. Unless there is a labor shortage or a run on steel I am unaware of there is no excuse.
Did you have to send anything back to them ? I'm wondering how their RMA process is for the few items they did ship me several weeks back.
Perhaps the Dillon moderator could answer that. Is there a restocking fee or anything like that ?

Thanks....I wasn't bashing Dillon. From what I hear they are a great company.
I just posted my experiance that I had with them. I understand what is going on in the industry and the shortage of materials. I don't mind waiting at all for my order. I would just like to be able to talk to someone in CS when I call once in a while. I don't mind waiting on hold. But the few times I did call I waited over an hour each time and nobody ever picked up.
No I didn't send anything back. I purchaced the SL900 shot shell press, case feeder, low powder alarm, press cover and the super swager. I receieved everything except the super swager.
I ordered my Hornady Ammo Plant and other stuff from Midway USA.
If you waited this long I wouldn't pull the plug because you will have to start all over again and go to the bottom of the list if you place an order with someone else. Unless you changed your mind and want to go with a different brand press.

"retard"), and strikingly informative youtube uploads (your obscenity-laden, sophomoric South Park knock-off videos with about 30 views as of this post), and poor google-based research sure validate that possibility. Are you seriously 41?!?
As for Dillon I'm happy to pay full price for every piece of equipment I buy from them. They've treated me right for years, and I don't mind waiting patiently. My order went in 1/16, new 650 came exactly 6 weeks later, and I'm still waiting on new dies.
