Hard cast to plated
Quote from Reloader on November 15, 2012, 4:21 amSorta new to Dillon 650 press. Was setup for 45ACP, now changed over to 38 Special. Have been loading hard cast & am ready to switch over to plated. Any changes necessary ? I've read that the plated bullets require a taper crimp. Thanks

Crimping plated (versus jacketed) will cause the plating to split and shear off. You can see this by looking at the target and seeing stray cuts and tears. I have seen 'cheap' plating come totally off the bullet.
