Quote from Reloader on June 10, 2009, 9:07 pmI just found out 1 of my birthday gifts from my father-inlaw. Its a xl650.
My question is he orderderd the strong mount(650 only). is the height required above the bench include the casefeeder? or is that with out the casefeeder.
I am looking foward to set this up.the book and website say 44" above bench and I only have 42 1/2".
I cant cut the legs off this bench cause its one from sears and metal. Thanks in advanced

Quote from Reloader on June 13, 2009, 4:02 amThanks for the info. A friend of mine says his is 27" without the casefeeder or strong mount. so with the 650 only mount i should be ok just not with a case feeder.

Quote from Reloader on June 14, 2009, 4:51 amYou have 1/2" of room to play with.
The newer 650's with casefeeder are only around 42 inches high. With 650 strong mount.
Dillon shortened the Case feeder mast since that information was published in their manuals.
A possibility and that is if you want to be brave about it. You can cut roughly 1"-1.5" from the top of the case feeder mast. In which you would also have to shorten you feed tube around the same amount.
I have 6'8" ceilings in my basement and I have no problems using my 650 with case feeder on 650 only mount. Which is mounted on a 35" tall bench.
My basement is unfinished, so I just centered the case feeder between two floor joist. Don't know what your whole situation is.

Quote from Reloader on June 30, 2009, 12:49 amMy XL650 on a 650-only Strongmount measures 40-3/4" above the bench top.
Keep in mind you will need some additional ceiling clearance to be able to add shells to the feed hopper.
Can you use a hacksaw to shorten your current bench or get a lower bench to mount the reloader?
