Help - Failsafe rod
Quote from Reloader on August 15, 2010, 3:52 pmI have just purchased a quick change caliber conversion kit to load 9mm. the problem i am having is at station 2. After the powder measurer drops a charge and I begin to lower the shellplate the failsafe rod wants to come out of the bellcrank housing (maily the backplate of the bellcrank housing) causing the failsafe rod to bind. My first thoughts were the z bend in the failsafe rod but I load 10mm 45acp, and 44 mag with this same rod and never a problem, I also made sure that the rod itself is aligned straight with the return bracket. any ideas as to what the problem could be would be greatly appreciated guys 🙂

Quote from Reloader on August 15, 2010, 6:25 pmProblem solved, failsafe rod was not lined up just right with the return bracket, I loosened the lock ring and gave the measurer a slight turn counter-clockwise which put less stress on the rod and readjusted the belling, all is fine now.

Quote from Reloader on August 15, 2010, 9:13 pmI also have 9mm quickchange but have never experienced wht you have. Maybe you can tigten the spring tension to keep the rod in place more solidly, or maybe DP will send you a new failsafe rod. Hope this helps.
