High Primers
Quote from Reloader on September 13, 2013, 6:26 pmNew to reloading and was running 45acp and noticed 1 out of 20 would leave the primer high. At first I thought I was probably short stroking on occasion but I disassembled 1 cartridge and put it back in the #2 (without any new primers)to see if I could seat it properly but it was still high. I tried it multiple times and I'm sure I pushed the handle all he way back. Is it common to have occasional high primers?
Thanks Brent

Quote from Reloader on August 23, 2017, 2:13 amSuddenly had high primers on my 650XL, checked all recommended possible causes (assured my shellplate was tight). Found that problem was the primer seating plug had backed out slightly. Wrench fixed that, no more problems! Note that this is problem is not listed elsewhere, but add it.
