Indexer ring "shaving" on indexer block

A recent observation on my XL650--after perhaps 100 or 200 reloads (45ACP, 200g LSWC), I begin to feel considerable resistance on the last part of the upstroke (of the handle, platform moving down). I finally timed it to when the indexer ring (the new version, grey colored) was hitting the indexer block. I noticed that there appeared to be some grey residue on the indexer block, and wiped it off with my finger. Immediately after the press became MUCH smoother--in fact, it the platform almost fell into position while rotating the indexer ring.

Is some adjustment needed in the indexer block, or elsewhere?

FYI, the platform is properly indexed, using the appropriate tool.

Andrew

Be sure the interior of the ring indexer is greased, as well as the angled camming surfaces on both the ring indexer and the steel cam. The only reason to adjust the cam is to fine-tune the position of the shellplate over the primer.
