indexing issue

i recently rebuilt this machine wave bearings and indexing prawl. this machine is a old square deal (not b) reasambled and indexing prawl hangs up on up swing.  i notice that the pin retaining the prawl was exposed some what before removel towards the inside. i had made it flush. i took it back apart and exposed it .060. help some  then i noticed that on the square deal b it has a washer part#14157 that i didnt have to use be fore  any help would be apricated thanks.

The washer is used to shim the index lever outward as needed. Remove the shellplate, then see how the index lever travels through its arc. It might be necessary to round the tip of the finger of the pawl itself, if the tip of the pawl is catching on the hole in the shellplate. If this is the case, just break the edge of the outboard side of the pawl.

thank you dillon tec for a quick response ill give your sugestions a try

after breacking all edges on prowl working better know. i will let it wear in from there
