installing powder kit on RL450.

I am installing a new purchased auto powder kit on my RL450. To install the 13885 return bracket, I had to remove the toolholder height adjustment screw. This screw is what sets the height of the toolholder, preventing the primer pin from seating the new primer too deeply. Is this screw now unnecessary? What prevents the machine from trying to seat the primer too deeply?

This screw was eliminated in the early 80s from 450 production. People ignored it, and seated primers by feel.
