Interchangeability of Spare Parts
Quote from Reloader on April 21, 2008, 12:16 amI have an SDB that I purchased in 1989. I love this machine, but I notice on the webpage that shows the parts breakdown that the spent primer cup is different from before. I just broke the spent primer cup bracket (part # 13594 in the instruction manual), and replaced it with the one I had in the spare parts kit. Is there any difference in the bottom of the frame on the newer SDBs that would preclude me from using the new setup on my old SDB?
The link arm bushings on my press are Delrin, but I have the brass bushings that came with the spare parts kit. Can I swap out the Delrin bushings and put the brass bushings on in their place?
Gee, it makes me feel like I've gotten behind the times when it comes to spare parts for my little SDB. Even though I also have an XL650, the SDB is going to be my primary press for pistol ammo.
Thanks,

Quote from Reloader on April 21, 2008, 5:35 pmThe new spent primer bracket and cup bolt onto the older SDBs, no problem. No change to the mounting holes. You cannot swap out the current brass link arm bearings for the older delrin bearings unless you also exchange the link arms as well. Thebrass bearings are larger in diameter than the delrin ones are.

Quote from Reloader on April 23, 2008, 2:22 pmIf you are referring to the white delrin support block, the answer is no.
We ultimately decided this part caused more problems than it solved.

Quote from Reloader on April 23, 2008, 5:32 pmNo, I meant the spent primer chute -sorry, I used the wrong terminology which only added to the confusion. The part I mean is the spent primer chute, Dillon Part # 13994, which goes below the return bracket (Part #13355). From what I gathered talking to John yesterday was that there are a ton of them in stock, but because the design changed, these are all just laying around waiting for someone to call for a replacement.
Since I don't see them listed as a part for my SDB, but you do have them, can I purchase 2 replacement chuts?
Thanks.
