Is my bench too tall to use the Strong Mount + case feeder ???
Quote from Reloader on May 19, 2019, 4:34 amHello foks.
I'm in the beginning stages of getting all my gear for the bench and then was ordering my press.
Due to the space constraints of the spare bedroom I'm using temporarily to reload in, I'll be using a bench that will be 2' deep x 4' wide x 3' tall.
The height of the bench can't be altered due to using a pre-assembled base.
We are planning on moving within the next year or so. I don't want to secure the bench to the wall due to concerns with damaging the wall and having to repair it when we sell the house.
Due to the 2' depth I didn't think it'd be stable enough for the normal edge mounting of the XL 650 press.
I'd like to use the Strong Mount and have the press centered front-to-back on the bench top....thinking this would give me the most stability.
I'd also like to add a case feeder to the press, too.
So....36" surface + Strong Mount + XL 650 + case feeder.....is this going to be some crazy tall assembly for a 6" tall guy.....or will I need to be closer to 7" tall  ????
Was hoping to get some perspective from other owners.

Thank you very much for confirming the measurements. I'm really looking forward to getting rolling with this press.
I waited way, way too long. Could've been having fun with it a lot sooner. 🙂

Quote from Reloader on May 21, 2019, 2:16 pmI don't use a strong mount simply because I do not stand when reloading and that is what it is designed for. Even though I do not use one it is still very tall and I use an attached mirror to watch what is going on in the case loader.

I'm guessing the difference between the two measurements is due to the two different Strong Mounts available for the XL 650...one that's common for 550-650 and one that's machine specific for the 650 only ?

I appreciate all the help here.
