Large pistol Shell Plate on XL650 Case Feeder

Loading .45 ACP and 40 S&W:

Clutch was very loose from the factory (New Unit) that in and of itself was no problem. However when I try to operate the unit on Low the shelplate (Large Pistol) consistently wants to stall. This happens empty, with only a few test rounds, and at capacity.

I have adjusted the clutch and that remedies the problem. However, I have to get the clutch has to be so tight to make the plate turn without hanging that I fear I'm defeating the purpose of the clutch (Which I assume is to protect the motor and guard against damaging hang-ups).

Now for the Question(s):

The plate seemes to hang most on Low Speed either empty or loaded. It will hang on High also but no where near as often. It's brand new.
1. Would it hurt to use the washer with .45 ACP and 40 S&W? Those are the only two calibers I'm loading right now?

It seems to hang even in an unloaded state also.
2. Is that normal?
Seems to be allot of friction with the bottom on the shell bin.

The washer may do the trick but it is not required on either of the calibers I'm loading.

Follow-up note:

I went on and installed the washer knowing it couldn't hurt anything and the case feeder worked flawlessly and I was able to adjust the clutch to an exceptable level which made me feel much better. I ran 600 cases (300 .45 ACP and 300 40 S&W) and all fed in the proper orentitation with no hangups.

I too was having that issue with my Dillon casefeeder and made two thin cardboard "washers" from a cereal box and that eliminated the scrub and drag I was incurring. The washer may be a bit too tall for some cases and they may want to roll up under the case occasionally. If that occurs, just remove your disk and get them out and start again.
