Large vs small primer pickup tubes

I ordered a 550B and it should be showing up tomorrow. I haven't been able to get my hands on any primers yet but I want to be prepared when I do. I'm going to be reloading 9mm which uses a small pistol primer. Does that mean I need to use the small pickup tube vs the large pickup tube? I have two large pickup tubes and I'd like to know if I should order some small pickup tubes to fit my small pistol primers. I'd rather not buy extra if not needed but I may have misunderstood how this works. Are large tubes for large primers or are they just able to hold more. Thanks for your help!

-Dave R.

Always use the small tubes with small primers and the the large tubes with large primers.

I believe that small primers could roll upside down in the larges tubes.

Yah, what he said. Two pickup tubes needed. One large one small.

crazy.

Enjoy your wait for your new gear.

Dave - your tube kit should have come with 4 tubes. Two of them are pickup tubes (one for large and one for small - these two are shorter in length than the other two in the kit) and will have metal clips on on end. The other two are primer feed tubes and are physically longer but the internal diameter sizes are corresponding to the primer size.
