Light Primer Strikes
Quote from Reloader on February 7, 2011, 6:04 pmI recently picked up a Super 1050 in 45ACP. I am loading Ball 230gr FMJ and 200 gr LSWC. In both my Ball gun and Wad gun, I am getting light primer strikes with the ammo I am producing from the Dillon. Prior to the 1050 I loaded on a Hornady AP Lock N Load and I never had this problem.
The quality of the Dillon ammo is excellent. I just don't understand why 1 in 15 rounds is a light primer strike with 2 different 1911's. Unfortunately, it has to be something with the ammo. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Quote from Reloader on February 8, 2011, 4:15 pmDoes a second hammer strike ignite the primer? If yes, then the primers need to be seated deeper. On the Super 1050 primer seating depth is mechanically adjustable. Refer to page 20,Station 4:riming problems, #2 for where and how to adjust.
