Loaded 40 cartridges do not feed

I have been struggling with loading .40 S&W for several weeks now on my 650. Fairly new to the 650 after having a 550 for several years. Also new to .40 S&W but have already loaded some .45 ACP successfully. All equipment for reloading is from Dillon.

I am loading brand new Starline brass that measures approximately .844 inches in length with minor variations with 180 gr FMJ bullets. I have tried using the recommended OAL from the Lymans manual for 180 gr Jacketed HP at 1.115 inches and tried the maximum length of 1.135 inches trying to resolve the feed failures.

I am crimping the brass to a diameter of .422 inches which is what the factory ammunition is measuring at.

Loading without primers currently and trying to feed from the magazine on my S&W MP, most cartridges get stuck feeding at an angle and won't completely chamber.

Not sure where to go from here, looking for some suggestions or help.

Thanks

What is the bullet nose profile of this bullet? Have you tried a different magazine? If you run your thumbnail down the edge of the case, does it catch on the case mouth? If yes, turn your crimp die down another 1/8 turn.
You might try a somewhat longer OAL, 1.125" and see if that controls the feeding better.
