Loading Small Primer 45 ACP
Quote from Reloader on May 11, 2016, 9:15 amHi,
I'm going to be purchasing some once fired brass in the small primer 45.Which headstamps should I avoid in the 550B?
A while back I loaded a small amount and there was one particular headstamp that had a lot of issues with seating a primer. Kind of like the primer pocket was not lined up well. I tossed all those and didn't keep a note on which brand that was.
Thanks,
Dave

I received 2000 pieces of once fired Win small primer brass. Winchester small primer pockets on the 45ACP cases are smaller / tighter than the Speer brass I use. I had a very high problem rate and gave the brass away.
QUESTION:
On Speer small primer 45ACP brass I am consistently having issues with the primer not being removed in the first stage. This happens 5% to 10% of the time. The primer is not removed and requires another rotation of the handle. The concern is having an accidental double charge. The depriming pin is straight. I took the die apart and everything seems fine.
What adjustment do I need to make to the deprimer die?
Thanks,
Dave
