Locator Buttons

All I reload is 9mm and .40. I use the #3 locator buttons for 9mm and #2 for .40 cal. I use the same shellplate because I heard that both 9mm and .40 use the same one. I noticed that when reloading .40 the brass is real wobbly and not snug when using #2 buttons and sometimes causes the brass to hit the side of the powerfunnel/die and crush it. When I use the larger #3 buttons I do not have this problem the brass is nice and tight and goes into the dies with not problem. Anyone know what is wrong because per the website I understand that I am using the right locator buttons?

If it works better and does not jam on the last station, then stick with it.  Or on the last station switch back to a number 2.
