looking at buying new press need recomendations

fellow loaders,
Currently I have a single stage press and looking to buy a dillon 550b or 650 but need some suggestions. currently I load for 9mm, 40sw, 45acp, 223, 243. what do you guys here find that works the best and is the most time saving and user friendly. im going to go full bore with this with full support of the wife (dont ask i couldnt tell you). so as they say a penny for your thoughts thanks in advance

Go 650 & you will never look back! I would suggest that you purchase the 650 video, it's very informative and will answer all your questions before you even set up the machine. I would have to guess that most people who have problems with setup or operation didn't bother with the instructions or the video. Good Luck. Bob

Thanks Bob I have talked to several other people and they say the same thing. plus it has auto index.

I don't want to be a naysayer, but I have had both a 550b(for 17yrs) and a 650( for 2yrs).

I think it really depends on how much you are going to shoot ?  If your going to shoot 1,000 rounds of each caliber a month, you will need the 650.  If your in the range of a couple 100 a month for each caliber, I would recommend a 550b.

Costs are next ( not talking about components).  Caliber conversions for the 650 cost $136 each, while the 550 is $59 (Not talking about powder measures or dies - you need those for both).

I had my 550 a long time before I out grew it.  Look at the cost difference's and make a decision on your needs.
