Low powder sensor

I’m considering buying this add-on. Does it have any effect, good or bad, on powder metering?

I've not seen any difference in metering with the powders that I use. It's nice to know when I get low on powder. I sometimes just get into a rhythm and miss checking how much powder is left.

I don't use the sensor. The powder measure is right in front of you and has a clear tube. I check the powder when I refill the primers. I've never run out, plus you'd have to remove the sensor to refill the powder. Just my .02

I think something is a must. You can be pretty busy trying to watch everything. Even with good light, you might miss looking in a case.

I chose to use a Lockout Die. More trouble to setup, I would think. But I do not have to look at it either once it is set. I still try to look at every case and see if it's ballpark with the amount of powder. But that does not always happen.

Buffalo, I don’t know what die you’re talking about but I think you are confusing the powder check with the powder sensor. Easy to do.

You're right. I don't think of powder sensor as an optional add on, since my XL-650 came with it. My brain made the switch to powder check, since that is an option.

I don't have one, but I've never heard that it's a problem
