How long does media last or when should it be replaced? Also can it be cleaned?

walnut media lasts about 10,000 cases or so; corncob media lasts about 18,000 cases or so. Media cannot be cleaned, just throw it into the mulch pile.

Glad I searched the question. It gives rise to another question. If I'm using the crushed walnut shells, can I add more case cleaning solution (Dillon) to the media to clean the cases? I thought I read somewhere that you're not supposed to, but can't locate that statement.
