Minimum gear for getting started...

Hi,

I'm interested in the 550/550B for 40S&W.

Is there a checklist somewhere for what I would need to get started?

Under specs and caliber changes,

You will also need (at minimum):

Die set (included with the Square Deal 'B' only)
Powder scale
Loading Manual
Dial caliper
Primer flip tray

This will get you started.

RL550B machine in the caliber of your choice
Die set in your caliber of choice
Eliminator Powder scale #13480
Lyman Reloading Manual #10330
Dial calipers #13462
Primer flip tray #13606

Dillon's short list is correct. Having sold another brand and type of press to buy a 550B, I'm surprised how few of the other accumulated "must-have" bits and "necessary" pieces are needed now.

The only thing I would add to the list, and it's the accessory I find I use more than any other since receiving my 550B, is plastic buckets to hold the finished ammo !!

My 2 biggest problems since my Dillon press arrived are:
• The UPS man can't deliver components in large enough quantities
• My family can't empty items sold in plastic buckets fast enough
