Modification of 550 casefeeder
Quote from Reloader on December 8, 2009, 8:58 pmCan I attempt to modify it to load .223/5.56?. I'm not real clear on why it couldn't be done.
The small rifle casefeeder plate for the 650 should fit in the 550 cf. The only issue appears to be the height of the caliber conversion tube. If one were to open the tube up(vertically) to allow the brass to pass thru and into the first stage, would there be any other issues?. Sure seems that simple but I wanted to see if someone else tried this first or if a Dillon rep could chime in.

Quote from Reloader on December 8, 2009, 10:36 pmThe problem is one of timing with the taller 223 case getting into the shellplate before the decap pin can interfere with it. We tested it, and were not satisfied with the result;hence we don't offer a conversion for it.
