Needing or not needing to purchase caliber conversion kits

If I purchase the caliber conversion kits for any of the following are they interchangable? and if so which ones?

.223/5.56

.243

25.06

Look on page 45 of your manual. There it lists all the parts of each conversion kit. .243 and 25-06 are nearly identical with the exception of the powder funnel. .223 is completely different. Me, I'd just pick up a powder funnel that didn't come with either the .243 or 25-06 that I order. In other words, buy the .223 and either the .243 or the 25-06 in addition to the one missing funnel.

good loading, jj

Thanks, but my manual unfortunitly is about 6K miles away from me, Just trying to build my collection of materials while away from my lil blue bb.

I want to have a completed set of components and dies for when i return home from AF.

I will reseach the part number for the powder funnel to save a little bit of cash, thanks for the advice jj.

Edward,

First off, Thanks for your service, ironically, this week we celebrated veterans day.

Order the complete .223 conversion kit. (21101)

Order either the . 243 (21089) and the funnel for 25-06 (K funnel #13216)

                                            OR

25-06 conversion kit (21090) and the funnel for .243 (#1 funnel #11156)

The .223 dies (carbide) have been backordered for months. I ordered some through a local shop (he needs the business) and finally found some on ebay after waiting more than 4 months. I'm not sure on the lead time now, but hopefully you'll have them by the time you get home.

Hopefully this will save you some research time.

Powders are the problem nowadays.

JJ

223 carbide dies are in stock at the moment. This fluctuates on a day-to-day basis, but we mostly keep them in stock. 308 carbide dies are still taking 6-8 or more weeks to fill, but we are at last receiving carbide faster than we are selling them, so we are steadily catching up on that caliber.

Thanks for the information on the powder funnel jj, that should save me alot of time!

As for the powder, I've had my order in for the past 6 weeks and still waiting! althought I have 5 more months to go 🙂 so waiting for UPS to show up itsnt that hard from here:-)

Edward,

On the Dillon home page and forum page (at least) there is a black bar with links to parts of Dillon's site. There's one just right on the middle with a link to manuals. You can download the 650 as a pdf if you have a decent connection. If you decide to add other calibers you can look up the conversion kits near the back of the manual. Plus, it gives you something to look at while you wait out the time you have to spend deployed. Stay safe.

jj,

After the second day of continuous downloading, I finally got the 60mb pdf file on my Ipad!

Thanks again for all the useful information. Now it’s time to get all my powder and primers stocked up for my return.

P.S. I’ve only been down to 70 ft and share your enthusiasm and the tranquility the water offers.

Edward
