new 550 and newbie
Quote from Reloader on February 13, 2012, 2:15 amHi
I just started reloading and went out andpurchased a dillon 550. it has four stations and I followed the manuel as far as set up. I started loading 9mm ammo and looks good except for some of the ammo has bulges at the bottom not bad but still noticable. I measured length of bullet andit was right on. I weighed the first 15 bullets out of 50 and they hit at the darget range (3.9 gr/ max 4.5 ) they averaged 4.0. what can I do or check to stop the bulging. The cases are good one was cracked after I loaded it so I put that in the no-go pile.
just a newbie that needs help thanks

If I am understanding you correctly it sounds as if this used brass is coming from a bad weapon. I used to have a Tec-9 which would bulge the brass... If your rounds look anything like this:
http://www.scattercreek.com/~nubus/images/9mmbrass.jpg
then I'd say your weapon is extracting the casing before 100% of the pressure has been discharged out of the barrel.
However, without more information, this is a much info as I can pass on...
