new owner/ old press

After years of drooling over the Blue Press, I recently purchased a used RL 550 B from a co-worker. The press has been sitting for about 8 years and looks like it was worked hard before that. I am in the process of taking it apart for a thorough cleaning with Hoppes #9 in the turret area and mineral spirits elsewhere. It's mostly brass dust, dirt, and some lubricant in the primer punch area. It doesn't appear to be too bad, there's no rust and the ram moves freely.

I know not to get oil near the primers and have read the other recommendations in the manual as to the shaft and pivot points, but what about the shell plate, the shell plate screw, the primer slide, the index star (pivot point), and the powder slide? Will a dry lubricant work? I have some spray Teflon at work, will that suffice?

Thanks

If you send us an e-mail, we can send you a 550 lubrication draft, showing where to lube, and with what.
