New to Dillon, case feeder erratic
Quote from Reloader on September 2, 2015, 1:15 pmHi Folks,
Been reloading for about 5 years on Lee and just purchased an XL650. I set it up yesterday and cranked out about 200 rounds of 45 colt however I had about 30 misfeeds of cases. they were getting stuck at the case feed adapter.
I can get it to work a bit more reliably by twisting the hopper to the right which misaligns the tube and the case feed adapter a bit but that cant be right. When everything is aligned perfectly I have many misfeeds.
Any ideas?
thanks

Quote from Reloader on September 2, 2015, 3:37 pmSolved. The caliber specific adapter which sits in the pivot arm was sticking up too much. I ran it over some sandpaper stuck to a sheet of glass to remove some material. it now sits flush with the pivot arm and things seem to be working better albeit not perfect.

Quote from Reloader on November 24, 2015, 8:26 amHad the same problem. Adjust the slide cam positioning so that the pivot arm fully aligns with the body bushing. I had to move mine back about 1/16" coming from 9mm to 45 colt.

I converted from 9mm to 45acp and ran 1500 rounds without a problem and no adjustment of the slide cam position. Then all of the sudden the cases will not drop into the case feed arm bushing unless I push them in with my finger.
