New XL650 cleaning question
Quote from Reloader on July 17, 2013, 1:45 pmJust ordered a new XL650, my question is during the setup process should I clean the individual parts with some kind of cleaner/lubricant (Horandy One Shot Gun Cleaner-Degreaser and Dry Lubricant) maybe? Or some other kind?

Quote from Reloader on July 17, 2013, 4:32 pmThanks Rob for the info. Was just thinking there might be some kinda oil on press from factory. Just trying to get stuff ready Dillon told me it would 8 weeks on my order. But that's fine, no need to stress over something I can't do nothing about.

Quote from Reloader on July 17, 2013, 10:31 pmYou still want to look at the parts as you assemble them for foreign matter like dirt and machining chips. I've never found any but it's still a good idea. No, there is no special cleaning process, they don't pack them in cosmoline like the military.

Quote from Reloader on July 18, 2013, 3:52 pmyou might wipe off the shellplate with an oily cloth, and clean the interior of the powder funnel with a cotton swab and alcohol. Otherwise, clean the interior of the dies when you receive them and you should be good. We lube the machine, so it is good for at least one year.

Quote from Reloader on July 21, 2013, 1:00 amThanks for all good info. Looking forward to getting press and setting everything up. Far as supply's go I got a little bit. But can you ever really have enough? I sold my old Lee turret classic press. I really enjoy reloading, so figured I'd setup and get a Dillon. I wonder if Dillons DVD covers die cleaning and using alcohol with cotton swab on powder funnel? Hope so! Cause didn't see any YouTube videos about that. Thanks again everybody.
