No .204 Ruger Dies?
Quote from Reloader on July 16, 2017, 9:07 pmYou offer the caliber conversion kit for the XL 650 in .204 Ruger, but no dies are available on the website. I checked the Blue Press and according to it, the only dies available are the Redding 2-die set, N90-12547. Which dies are these?

Quote from Reloader on July 16, 2017, 9:30 pmI looked up the various dies on both Dillon's and Redding's websites. Looks like the sizing die (full-length is available), seating, and crimping dies in the 3-die sets.
Is there a die available for bell and powder, and if so, which would I use?

Quote from Reloader on July 16, 2017, 11:28 pmJoe,
The bell and powder is done with a powder die and the funnel from the conversion kit, no special die required.

Quote from Reloader on July 17, 2017, 2:36 amThanks.....I probably knew that, and just forgot....heck, it's been so long since I've purchased dies for the XL 650, I kept thinking there were 4 dies.....appreciate the quick reply.

Quote from Reloader on July 17, 2017, 10:35 pmSince Dillon doesn't have dies for the .204 Ruger, I was looking at the Redding dies, but there are several choices and I'm not sure which ones I should get.
I'd be shooting these in a bolt gun, not an AR variant or a semi-auto.

Quote from Reloader on August 6, 2017, 7:43 pmNew question: I didn't see a crimp die for the Redding set, when I first looked, I thought there was a crimp die in the 3-die set, but it's actually a full-length sizing die, a neck-sizing die, and the seating die. Any recommendations for the crimp die? I didn't find a crimp die for .204 Ruger on Redding's charts.....

Quote from Reloader on August 7, 2017, 12:25 pmSorry, most of the stuff I was looking at was either on Redding's site, or Midway or Brownell's, and it was buried somewhere in the product descriptions. Redding seating dies also have a crimp ring in them, so a two-die set is either neck-sizing and seating/crimp or full-length sizing and seating/crimp. I just didn't dig deep enough.

Quote from Reloader on August 7, 2017, 4:12 pmWe carry the Redding two die set for 204 Ruger, which is a full-length resize/deprime die and a seat/crimp die. Typically, you do not crimp this cartridge.

Quote from Reloader on August 8, 2017, 2:36 amI've seen them in the Blue Press. I was under the impression that a full-length sizing die is harder on the brass than a neck-only sizing die. I've been told that by several people who have been reloading for a while. I've been reloading since 1989, but pistol rounds only. I do reload .30-06 on occasion, as well, but the Dillon dies for that are neck-only dies.
