no powder drop
Quote from Reloader on September 19, 2015, 11:05 pmCurrently loading .45 acp, I sometimes get cases with no powder dropped in them, or sometimes less than a grain. using bullseye currently. I have run the case back through, and still no powder drop. I put the cases in my lyman length gauge, and they seem to be fine. any suggestions? thank you.

Quote from Reloader on September 22, 2015, 2:43 pmEither the powder die is not down far enough, so that the powder bar is not fully actuated by the case; or else the failsafe return rod is not properly adjusted. Watch the powder bar movement as you cycle the machine handle. The powder bar should go all the way over well before the handle bottoms out. If it doesn't, then turn the die down in 1/2 turn increments until the powder bar travels fully, and the case mouth is flared at least .010" larger than a sized, unflared case.
For proper adjustment of the failsafe rod, see the appropriate technical support video in our video library.
