Not getting a good flare
Quote from Reloader on May 15, 2011, 5:01 amI just changed caliber from 9mm to 40s&w. My 40 set is brand new and my first time using this set. I'm not getting the flare on the shell that I want. I have screwed #2 down as far as I can get it and it seems to not change my flare. Well it seems to not be flaring at all.
I did have have a screw(399G in the manual) just broke on my powder measure that holds a roller. The screw looks like it might hold the plastic piece inside the the powder measure. What do you think?
btw: I called Dillon for replacements parts...great service.

Quote from Reloader on May 24, 2011, 1:07 pmObtaining the proper degree of flare was a bit tedious for me as well. For the original 9x19 setup, I got it right the first time. When I recently converted to .40 S&W, I failed to achieve enough flare, and experienced an intermittent problem involving a few damaged bullets, and one crumpled case during the cycling process. This was entirely my fault, and I increased the flare just enough to prevent this from occurring.
