OAL increase

I am loading .40 S&W. I have me OAL set at 1.120 and after I crimp the bullet it increases by .003. I am using a Lee factory crimp die, could it be pulling the bullet out on the down stroke? Any ideas would be appreciated.

.003" is well within tolerances. It helps to adjust the seat die with a fired case in station 1 to ensure consistant upward toolhead pressure.

When I set my AOL I always have a full shell plate and that seems to give all stations a real world setting.
