Old vs New Style Powder Measures

I've been eyeing an upgrade to the XL650 recently. Been a happy user of a 550B for more than 20 years, and as such have a number of quick change kits for it. Now, all but one of my existing powder measures is the "old style" with the single arm on the bell crank (with the L-shaped end on the failsafe rod that is held in place with a clip that wraps around the bell crank and rod and has a retaining clip on the end) as opposed to the two-part, slotted bell crank and double-L failsafe rod.

Will the old style powder measures work on the XL 650 or do those have to be upgraded as well?

To be honest, I prefer the old style as I find the slotted crank units are quite rough and bumpy in operation.

My old 550b powder measures worked fine on the xL650. However overtime I have converted them to the new style so I had all of the same type. After a time the new style is just fine. It is more how one moves the handle on the return, then it is the two styles of powder measures. The safety improves of the new style will save a over charge / powder spill.

Great stuff! Thanks for the info.
