Old XL550 warranty?

It seems as though I have inherited a rundown old Dylan XL 550. I was telling someone that I planned on cleaning it and trying to get it working, but then someone told me about the warranty. How are missing parts handled? Do I send it in and Dillon lets me know what parts are missing and how much it will cost?

Missing parts are not covered under warranty. You are welcome to, and we encourage you to send it in for evaluation. We will go over it and let you know what is missing, and quote it for you. We have videos here to show how to clean and lube the machine, or we can perform a clean and lube service for $77.95. Please contact us for a return authorization before sending it in.

Thank you. I did not expect replacement parts to be free. I guess my main question is if I send the old unit in, is it possible to get it refurbished, including new part as necessary, and pay a fee that would be significantly less than purchasing a new unit? Also, what is the most economical way to ship the unit in?

The most economical way to ship is to pre-box the machine yourself, then take it to FedEx or UPS directly. If you go to a third party shipper that uses FedEx or UPS, they will charge you more. Go to FedEx.com and use 35lbs as a weight to figure shipping, so you know what FedEx charges.
