Older Powder Measure
Quote from Reloader on May 4, 2009, 9:18 pmI have a 500 loader that I purchsed in 1985, it has performed wonderfully, and has loaded more rounds than I care to admit.
Started a new claiber this weekend, .45 Colt. Noticed that I have developed a lot of rocking motion of the powder measure from bottom of stroke to top. I have had this powder measure since day one. It appears that I have worn the bearing raceways over the years. Is there a method to add to the worn raceways to preclude the undue movement?

Quote from Reloader on May 5, 2009, 1:55 pmSome rocking motion is normal, and intentional. If this suddenly increased, detach the powder measure from the die and look up into the underside of the connector body collar at the bottom. You will see a steel tube protruding from the bottom. There should be a white ring around the base of the tube, recessed up into the collar. On older powder measures it is possible for this sleeve to fall out when the measure is not attached to the die. It sounds like your sleeve might be missing.
If it is present, then the entire connecot body collar needs to be replaced. phone or e-mail us and we ca send either a sleeve or collar assembly to you.
