Operating rod
Quote from Reloader on September 30, 2017, 6:23 pmHi,
I apologize for my English and I hope my message will be clear enough.
I bought a 550B around 2000 and reload a lot of 9mm. The 550B is great and worked flawlessly until now.
Very recently I experienced a problem. When I push back the operating handle, the primer slide doesn't fully return to its place and the primer seating blocks the shellplate from returning to its place.
I disassemble the primer system to clean it and reassemble it.
However, the problem comes from the operating rod .
I think that the operating rod bracket doesn't hold the operating rod enough, so when I pull the operating handle and the small roller comes in contact with the operating rod, the operating rod rotates within the operating rod bracket and comes towards me...
One solution is to bend the operating rod, but its a little bit difficult.
Does anybody already had this problem?
Is there a solution (instead of bending the rod)? Changing the operating rod bracket?
Thanks in advance
Joel

Thanks for the idea.
I tested the spring but it's ok.Thanks to this video (https://youtu.be/4BSyIeIfVFw) I found what the problem was.
The operating rod was not moving freely enough within the operating rod bracket.
So I removed the operating rod (which was a little bit difficult) and greased it carefully and put it back in place.
I unbend the operating rod (I bent it a bit previously) and everything is working smoothly then.Ready for the next decade!
