Platform Assembly - Slide Spring Pin

I'm not totally for sure how the slide spring pin (15) is supposed to come out? Is it a screw? is it a pin that needs to be punched out?
I thought i would ask before I go and start forcing things and potentially break something.
Any explanation would very much appreciated.
