Powder funnel

I have had my Dillon equipment stored for the past 2 years while my home was being completely rennovated. I now have a dedicated gun/reloading room (10x15) and started remounting all the equipment. I have discovered that a few of the powder funnels have rusted. What is the best way to clean the rust and keep it from returning. I am assuming you cannot oil the funnels without contaminating the powder as it flows through. What about blueing the funnels after removing the rust?

Thanks in advance for any information.

We suggest using WD-40 and either steel wool or a scotchbrite pad to remove the rust. Bluing might help reduce future rust accumulation. For long-term storage, coat steel parts with paste car wax to act as a vapor barrier to prevent rust. This would have to be removed using solvent prior to use.

Sorry for reviving such an old thread but i recently got my press and wasnt able to set it up right away and found the same problem with my powder funnel. Should the end of the funnel that puts the bell on the case be polished up after the rust is removed? Where i work i have access to tumbling and polishing machines and was thinking of tumbling and repolishing the powder funnel. Good idea or not?

That will work just fine.
