Powder Funnel Not Feeding
Quote from Reloader on August 30, 2013, 6:44 pmI'm trying to load .30-06 using IMR 4895 powder. This is a stick form powder, but it's not dropping through the powder funnel. I've made sure that I'm using the correct funnel, the correct powder measure (the large powder bar), and that the powder bar is travelling its full distance with the upstroke of the shellplate. I've tried adjusting the measure, and it seems whichever way I turn the adjusting bolt (clockwise to increase, counter-clockwise to decrease) that the amount of powder thrown is only about 2 or 3 grains instead of the 45 grains I'm trying to throw. I can't find any occlusions in the powder container, or in the funnel, or the powder measure, so I'm not sure why I'm not getting sufficient powder through the funnel.

Quote from Reloader on August 30, 2013, 9:09 pmthe powder measure will not accept long stick powder according to several forums. short stick it can somewhat handle. I use spherical or flake only myself. althogh these days you can't always find what you want. i'm not sure if any of the progressive powder throwers will accept this type but i'm still learning myself.

IMR 4895 is a short stick powder, the sticks are probably 3mm long.
