Powder measure and die questions

Hello all,

I have a SDB with the original powder measure and I am about to purchase one maybe two SDB quick change kits and dies for 9mm and .45ACP. The SDB is currently configured for .45 Long Colt and I would like to just change out the tool head and powder measures. What parts other than K71-16378 and dies would I need to purchase to accomplish this?

Also, in the January Blue Press catalog on page 34,  I was looking at the Dillon pistol dies and was wondering if these are compatible with the SDB or are they for the other Dillon presses and non-Dillon presses? It is not really clear on this.

Thank you.

Seswho,

The square Deal B uses a special die set. Regular Dies do not work. You would need to get a SDB Caliber Conversion kit, 9 mm (20241) and 45acp (20123) along with the SDB quick change (16378) to be able to leave the toolhead setup. The caliber conversion kit includes the carbide size die, expander/powder funnel, seat die, crimp die, shell plate, and locator buttons.

SDB 9mm conversion #20241

SDB 45ACP conversion #20123

See pages 8 & 9 for SDB accessories. The dies on other pages are for our other machines

Thank you.

The only question I have left on this subject is, will a new fail safe rod assembly be part of the item 16378 as I am still using the original powder system or will the original fail safe rod work with the new powder system?

The old style failsafe rods are not compatible with the new style powder measures. The new style rods do work fine with the older measures. A rod is not included with the measure. If you need a rod, please phone your order in and we can throw one in with your order.

Thanks

Having an extra toolhead for each caliber conversion kit really helps!
