powder measure binding
Quote from Reloader on August 11, 2009, 2:00 amI have an early model XL650 (1993-1994 vintage).
The powder bars (both large and small) bind when feeding ultra fine powders such as H110/W296.
I was told that the new powder measure body (part # 22273) is built to tighter tolerances
than the old body (part # 21274), and that the binding problem has been eliminated.
Is this true ?
If so, can I get a replacement part ?

Quote from Reloader on August 11, 2009, 10:06 amI havent heard that, but on occasion, I experience similar problems (albeit with stick powder).
I was loading 4895 powder last night, and on occasion, the powder bar would bind up, and for the life of me, I couldnt figure out what it was hitting. It felt like an internal jam, and I had to remove the powder mechanism and monkey with it for a while to get it to operate properly again. A little frustrating, since I didnt ever figure out what was binding.

Quote from Reloader on August 11, 2009, 2:56 pmthe older measures were never meant to feed a fine ball/spherical powder such as W-296/H-110. The new bars are slightly larger, and the housings are broached, giving tighter tolerances. Simply call us and request a return authorization to ship your powder measure in. We'll broach your housing and fit new bars to it. Takes 3-4 days in-house.
