powder measure problems

Set up my new 550b and all looks good except my powder drop. set to 4.7work ok for a few then notice it was dropping more. Some up to 5.4 gr Using 700x powder. Try a few more loads then 4.6 then 5.2 . Any ideas and help would be appreciated.The bar is moving to both stops from where the spring is set and the powder issue is more then initialy set for.

How much are you flaring the case mouth? It should flare a minimum of .010" larger than a sized, unflared case. It sounds like the powder bar isn't going full travel.

Also, be sure to start with the hopper at least 2/3 full of powder. Throw 10-15 charges and dump them back before you begin weighing charges.

you may have a powder bridging problem. When the powder stacks up between

the thrower and the powder tube it will start to throw light then it will throw heavy

when it starts throwing light carefully remove the powder measure if it is bridging it

will have a lot of powder under it.When your loading on the down stroke of the handle

bottom out to bump the powder measure and shake the bridging loose.
